According to the China iron and steel association, the daily output of key steel enterprises fell month-on-month in March, while overall inventories were lower but still at a high level.

In terms of production, the accumulative average daily output of pig iron, crude steel and steel in key steel enterprises in March was 1.824 million tons, 1.695 million tons and 1.766 million tons respectively, down 2.1%, 3.1% and 1.7% from the previous month.

In terms of enterprise inventory, the steel inventory of key steel enterprises in the second half of march was 18.067 million tons, a decrease of 3.342 million tons, or 15.6%, from the highest inventory in the first half of march. Compared with the beginning of the year, it increased by 8.534 million tons, or 89.5%.

In terms of social inventory, the social inventory of 5 kinds of steel products in 20 cities was 19.6 million tons in late march, which was 1.15 million tons or 5.7% lower than the maximum stock in early march. Compared with the beginning of the year, it increased by 10.94 million tons, or 134.7%.
